POINTED STICKS Alberta Bound! Turn, turn, turn …if to everything there is a season, then the season has come for the Pointed Sticks long-awaited second full-length album. Northern Electric is proud to release Three Lefts Make A Right, 13 new songs in the great tradition of the band. Coming some 29 years after the classic Perfect Youth and mixed by legendary producer Mike Fraser at the Warehouse Studios in Vancouver, the record is already creating a buzz with the advance release of “Wireless” which is now going out to media outlets worldwide. "It's a killer album. I can't wait to share it with the world." said Northern Electric's Richard Chapman of the album recorded at Mushroom and Paramount Studios. Buoyed by their triumphant tour of Japan in 2006, a tour which was followed by wildly successful sold-out appearances in Toronto, New York, the Austin, Texas power-pop festival and of course their climactic hometown concerts in Vancouver at Richard’s on Richard’s and The Red Room, the Pointed Sticks now embark on a new phase of their storied career. Three Lefts Make A Right contains the trademark classic hooks and harmonies which have made this band and have sustained their following all these years, but with songs which also have a new harder and deeper groove and a more wistful sense of melancholy and reflection. These are still love songs in the best classic pop sense, but ones which show a depth filtered through the amorous successes and failures of the years. As singer Nick Jones notes, the album is “a natural progression”, one which builds on their past but one which also turns a new page in the Pointed Sticks’ story. And speaking of turning, think turntable as well, as the album will be released in three formats: Vinyl, CD and digital download.
